I feel really sad about the earthquake!

I was surfing the Internet all afternoon yesterday. And just as normal, a QQ system message poped out and read that an earthquake hit Sichuan Province at 2:28 pm, and people in many other provinces, including the capital Beijing could feel it. I didn't pay much attention on that news message and closed it after reading. But not long after I saw some of my buddies on my Xiaonei (Chinese Facebook) updated their status like "Damn, I felt an earthquake!" Many of my buddies on Xiaonei are university students in Beijing. Wow, even they could feel the earthquake in Sichuan Province! My curiosity began to grow, and I was wondering how big the earthquake really was. And later, I found a picture uploaded on Xiaonei by a Tibetan student which was captured from the website of Sichuan Provincial Government and showed an article about rumors of a coming earthquake were disaffirmmed by Sichuan Earthquake Bureau. What a big mistake the Earthquake Bureau has done! I began to feel angry at it, and captured a picture of the article  on the website by myself as a proof, in case it would be deleted soon. And, yes, it was deleted later. But Beijing government reacted quickly. Rescue has been sent there. And our Premier Wen Jiabao also went there, and ordered all the soldiers to try the best to save lives, in spite of the rain. But it is reported that nearly ten thousand people have been found dead, and seven thousand nearly the earthquake center are out of communication with the outside. Many schools and hospitals have collapsed. People in Sichuan Province dare not to stay indoors after the main earthquake, because smaller earthquakes or aftershocks continuously came to hit. It's a total catastrophe to our country! It reminds me of 911 in the States, and my eyes were wet last night when I was in bed, thinking about the people who were staying outdoors overnight.

Below are ome pictures from a Tibetan student on Xiaonei, showing the students of Southeastern University of China sleeping on the ground outdoors.

Hi Samuel, thanks for your message on my xanga. Also thanks for your post and pictures that allow me to understand how people are seriously disheartened and affected by this disaster. I'm a Chinese in London (UK), and feel terrible to know of this event. Esp soon after the Burma has its international pressure to save its people, and now it's China's turn. In fact, I visited Chendgdu last Christmas, so images of the city are still vivid in my mind. Now only rubble left....
I really hope people will get the support from the government.

I know, right? It's so sad. The snow storm, the boycott, and now this. It's so heartbreaking, I can't even watch the news anymore.

No, I am not in China, but I think it is a good thing to be aware of what is taking place globally.  Lets me know how to pray.
